| Bushido is the moral, unwritten code of conduct of the samurai class that was developed during the Tokugawa shogunate. This code created an aura of chivalry and respect that always loomed over their heads because they had a duty much greater than themselves, something much needed in that era. During World War II, the universal word for the Allied soldiers was "kichiku beihei" which translates literally as "barbarian American soldiers" or better as "dirty American devils" (thus it corresponds to the word "Jap").
