One day upon returning home she finds herself unable to control her bike and is unable to stop herself from hitting an oncoming train. After discovering her abilities, she uses it to make life more pleasant by avoiding tardiness, passing tests, among other things. However, when relationship issues begin to arise between her friends Chiaki and Kousuke, she again uses her powers to avoid awkward situations, only to discover that things only got worse. Recently adapted into a feature length anime by Kadokawa Herald Pictures in 2006, this version continues 20 years later where the original novel left off, creating a fantastic sequel with a modern generation of characters. One of the things we love about Blu-Ray is how amazingly beautiful it makes all visuals, which is especially important when dealing with fabulously illustrated animation like this film by Makoto Shinkai, who is being called the next Miyazaki. In this film, which is split into three episodes, you can follow the love of Takaki and Akari, who first meet as children then grow but are separated when Tataki moves away. The story then follows the two lives as they grow up and must find love with each other again. Japanese language and subtitles, 71 minutes.
